The Lovely Bones
Perfect alignment of the bones in our cranial system and the magical fabric (the Fascia) that suspends them is more critical than you think. When the fascia twists during whiplash/injury, the cranial bones pull out of alignment; your reality distorts and you can be left with pain of an unexplained origin. This is because Medicine looks to the superficial, unbelieving of the vital messages coming from the deepest place in our core. The cranial bones and fabric is the home of our soul and our consciousness. Each cranial bone has a specific meaning and impacts your body and your perceptions of life.
The Sphenoid Bone
While the alignment of all cranial bones is vital for health, the sphenoid bone is the most magical and the most delicate. It is shaped like a butterfly as you see in the right hand image; the upper wings sit behind your eyes. If twisted they can make your eye alignment also look crooked. The lower wings are under the back base of the skull, so a neck injury or whiplash twists the lower wings and affects the upper too. The outer, upper edges of the sphenoid touch the outer skull at your temples. This is why a blow to the temple can easily kill someone, as it becomes a blow throughout the inner skull as well. Why is it magical? Because it is The Christ Consciousness – our gateway access to God. The slightest bump or whiplash can distort its alignment and you will begin to experience the side effects listed below.
· any trauma can = mild headache to severe personality disorder
· the inner vision bone - who are we, seeing our potential and our world – Gateway to God
· impaired rocking motion = SAD (seasonal affective disorder)
· its nose-diving action acts as a tracking device to tell the body where we are in space.
· 15 of the 16 large postural body muscles take their postural cue from the sphenoid to determine our central balance
· deeply influences the movements of almost all of the other cranial bones
· the definition of “interconnectedness”, when misaligned we feel disconnected from spirit and self
· excess downward rocking = dull frontal headaches, sinusitis, low-back pain, depression
· excess upward rocking = more severe headaches, migraines ,loner, introvert, upward vision to God for support
· dyslexia, = one side higher than the other, also can cause scoliosis,
· feeling twisted up or torn apart by a situation, (children with fighting parents)
· someone who cannot bear to “see” a traumatic situation will distort or fault their own inner visual field by twisting the sphenoid to one side
· the up & down rocking motion of the sphenoid bone milks your pituitary gland and optimizes its normal hormone function – so hormonal imbalances CAN be caused by a sphenoid bone that is stuck
If this is happening in your life, scheduling regular cranial sessions will keep you functioning at your optimum level, lift your mood and your energy level and allow you to enjoy your life to the fullest.
